Some aprons from vintage linens

When I was writing that last post about vintage linens, I decided to get out some of the ones I have made and show them to you. It was a learning process, but it was a lot of fun and these have been some of my best sellers. The one on top is probably my favorite. The owner of an antique shop (a friend of mine) saw me checking out the worn and stained tablecloth and said, "If you think you can do something with that, go ahead and take it." The wheels started turning and I came home and made 5 aprons out of it (after soaking it in oxyclean and cutting out the holes). I gave her one of them and sold the rest, except this one.

Above: This was from an old piece of fabric that found at a yard sale. I thought was so cool. You can't tell, but the centers of the flowers are the same color as the pockets.

This was kind of cute, and I hid the pocket under the linen layer, on top of the fabric layer.

This was made from an old window valance. A perfect kitchen print and a built in ruffle.

These last 2 are made from the same dresser scarf. I actually got 4 aprons out of the same scarf. In the bottom one, the scarf creates the pockets, 3 of them

Now, I know you wouldn't really cook with most of these, because they are too cute and fancy, but they would make nice hostess gifts and just for looking cute. All of them are completely lined and have extra long ties so you could use them if you wanted to.
